Prodex Total 16 Inch Insulation combines the benefits of a reflective insulation (R-15.67), radiant barrier and vapor barrier. A pole barn or metal building insulation system requires a reflective insulation, radiant barrier and vapor barrier. The metal skin causes sweating (condensation), unbearable heat in summer and frigid temperatures in winter. Prodex serves a true vapor barrier and condensation eliminator. The R value of the system will vary dependent on the airspace size and the direction of the heat flow, and the conductive and convective properties of surrounding materials. Because heat rises, you'll have more winter heat loss through your roof than through your walls; therefore, it's more important having a higher R-value in the roof than walls.
