Prodex Total 4 ft x 25 ft (100 sq ft) combines the benefits of a reflective insulation (R-15.67), radiant barrier and vapor barrier. That means you'll have a cool, dry structure in summer and a warm, dry structure in winter. It is used as a stand-alone insulation or supplemental insulation. The R value of the system will vary dependent on the airspace size and the direction of the heat flow, and the conductive and convective properties of surrounding materials. Because heat rises, you'll have more winter heat loss through your roof than through your walls; therefore, it's more important having a higher R-value in the roof than walls. The radiant barrier component of Prodex addresses summer heat gain.
