Installing Insulation on a Garage Door

•  Measure your door panels.
• Cut insulation strips (1.5" wide) out of your roll to create the air spaces.
• Cut insulation to match size of door panels
• Install the strips on the edges of the door panels with double-sided adhesive tape for metal doors (staples for wood doors).
• Attach the insulation to the insulation strips with tape, glue or staples.

The R value of the system will vary dependent on the airspace size and the direction of the heat flow, and the conductive and convective properties of surrounding materials. Because heat rises, you'll have more winter heat loss through your roof than through your walls; therefore, it's more important having a higher R-value in the roof than walls. The radiant barrier component of Prodex addresses summer heat gain. Heat gain is higher in the attic because the sun is beating down on it all day (it's not uncommon to have summer daytime temperatures in an attic cavity that exceed 140 to 150 degrees F).   Prodex Seals: Mechanical characteristics/physical proof below: High compression recuperation.
