A steel arch building is a building shaped like a semi-circle. It typically has no structural members. It is composed of 18, 20 and 22 gauge deep ribbed galvalume steel. These buildings are also called quonset huts.
Steel arch buildings are cost effective and typically used in the agricultural industry. Applications include workshop and garages.
You Must Insulate A Steel Arch Building
If you're not going to spend the extra money to insulate, than we suggest you don't purchase a steel arch building. Your steel arch building will be a HOT tropical rain forest in the summer and frozen with ice crystals in winter if you don't insulate. The steel corregated panels will magnify the heat and cold making it much hotter inside in summer and much colder inside in winter. Your steel arch building will be unbearable to enter at times in the summer. You'll have a constant drip due to condensation that will damage your barn and its contents.
