If applying two layers of Prodex: Alone or in conjunction with other insulation. Create air-gap between insulation layers (3/4 inch or more). This will optimize insulation performance. You can create air-gap by using furring strips, lathe boards or allowing the insulation to sag in a cavity. Prodex 16 and 24 inch are typically used when installing between the studs (Diagram 1 and 2). Prodex 48, Fast Action and 72 Inch are used to install over the studs (Diagram 2, 3, 4). Tip: (Diagram 5) To avoid using lathe/furing strip before installing wall board over the insulation, push insulation into cavity.
