New Construction
- Place double-sided tape on frame (this keeps insulation from blowing during install).
- Roll out insulation over the purlins, running the insulation perpendicular to purlins.
- To improve insulation performance, (Roof) Place 1" x 4" spacer on insulation over the purlin.
- Tape seams with reflective tape (or use Prodex Fast Action to avoid seam tape) Important! Tape seams to improve insulation performance and prevent condensation.
- Attach your sheeting.
Equipment checklist (new install): reflective tape, double sided tape and utility knife.
Retrofit: Use super metal sealant to attach insulation under purlins and girts. Tape seams with reflective tape or order Prodex Fast Action to avoid having to use seam tape.
