Reflective insulation is the most effective when incorporated with at least 3/4" airspace between the insulation and any adjacent material. The R value of the system will vary dependent on the airspace size and the direction of the heat flow, and the conductive and convective properties of surrounding materials. PRODEX TOTAL INSULATION: Is one of the most versatile products ever developed and can be used in non-traditional insulation applications. Reflects up to 97% of radiant heat striking its surface. Has a 0.03 emittance. Provides an efficient, effective, space saving method of temperature control. Can be used all year round to reduce heating and cooling costs, by retaining heat in the winter and repelling it in the summer months. Provides an excellent vapor barrier when properly installed. Also reduces or eliminates condensation when properly installed. Is a Class A/Class 1 fire rated product. Also increases lighting when installed in ceiling applications. Is resistant to mold, fungi and bacteria and does not promote its growth. Helps keep your house cooler in the summer and saves money on your energy bill when installed in your attic. Could be installed in your crawl space to save you money on heating costs and to have warmer floors at the same time. Can be used to wrap your ductwork to reduce your heating and cooling costs. Is used in animal confinement buildings to reduce the "black globe effect." (Black globe effect may increase mortality rates to livestock housed in an unprotected environment and lower production.) Does not collapse or disintegrate and cuts installation time. Works in temperatures as extreme as - 20 degrees Celsius and as high as 80 degrees Celsius (and if an air space is added it can go up to 300 degrees Celsius.)
